Accessibility

We want NOOP to work for everyone. Here is what we have done, where we still fall short, and how to tell us when something is not right.

Last updated: 30 June 2026

The short version

  • We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 AA on this website.
  • The site uses semantic HTML, full keyboard navigation, visible focus, and good colour contrast.
  • We are a small team, so some areas may still fall short.
  • Found a problem? Email thenoopapp@gmail.com and we will look into it.

1. Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA on this website, and to keep the apps usable for as many people as possible. Accessibility is not a one-off task. We treat it as ongoing work and improve things as we go.

2. What we have done

On this website, we have built in the following:

  • Semantic HTML so structure and headings make sense to screen readers and assistive tech.
  • Keyboard navigation throughout, with a clear, visible focus indicator so you can always see where you are.
  • Colour contrast chosen to meet AA for normal text.
  • A light theme and a dark theme, so you can pick what is easier on your eyes.
  • Respect for prefers-reduced-motion: if your system asks for less motion, we tone the animations down.
  • Descriptive alt text on images that carry meaning.
  • A mobile menu and dropdowns that you can open and operate with a keyboard and a screen reader, not just a mouse.

3. Known limitations

We are a small team and we are honest about that. Some areas may still fall short of what we are aiming for, and we fix issues as we find them. The in-app experience also varies by platform, so accessibility on macOS, iPhone, and Android is not identical. If something does not work for you, please tell us. That is usually how we find these things.

4. How to tell us about a problem

Email us at thenoopapp@gmail.com. Tell us which page you were on and what went wrong, with as much detail as you can. We will look into it and do what we can to put it right.
